She earned her MD at McGill University in Montréal, Québec, a diploma in tropical medicine and hygiene at the University of London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine in London, an MPH at Harvard University and PhD in clinical investigation at Johns Hopkins University. She completed her medical residency in internal medicine and pediatrics at the University of Rochester. She completed multiple clinical and research fellowships at Emory University, Harvard Medical School and Johns Hopkins University and Hospital.
